off campus!

knew i'd be obsessed with this well before pressing play - haven't read elle kennedy's books but i'm such a sucker for frothy escapist romcoms and so easy to please in that subgenre - though even going in that excited couldn't have prepared me for just how much it'd bewitch me body and soul. it's become popular to turn YA/NA romances aimed at women into punching bags on social media for soapy scenes or cheesy dialogue, but i thought this not only managed to check the boxes of the tropes fans were tuning in for tremendously but also deliver genuinely unforgettable and intoxicating chemistry (dean and allie are EVERYTHING) as well as a remarkably mature handling of its deeper themes of sexual trauma and domestic abuse. found myself in tears like six separate times throughout the last two episodes and wasn't prepared for that at all lol. beyond tuned in for season 2 and already ordered all the books too <3
